Late Afternoon Rays by Matthew Russell, 2002
35mm photograph, 24 x 36, printed on archival stock using archival inks rated at 75-100 years before any sign of fading.

“This photograph was taken shortly before sunset in late fall at Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. The gold and red hues of the rocks and canyon walls contrasted with the shadowy parts of the canyon. Just visible is a horizontal band of light that turned the peaks in the middle distance to a dark crimson.” Matt Russell, August 2004
